Inman sits up Highway 176 on the north side of the county, twenty minutes from Spartanburg, where subdivisions meet the small farms that were there first. The work splits the same way: lots cleared for new houses on the town side, pastures and fence lines reclaimed from privet and kudzu on the farm side toward Campobello and Landrum.
Old peach orchards and pasture that have gone to thicket are common here, and they are mulcher work: a day or two an acre and the ground is open again, roots in place so the clay does not wash toward the lake.
